The Path to Qualification: My Journey as a Trainee Solicitor

Embarking on my journey as a trainee solicitor at Lux Family Law has been an incredibly rewarding experience. From the moment I joined the team in April 2023 as a Paralegal, I have been welcomed and supported by the close-knit team here at Lux.
One of the aspects I enjoy most about my role is the variety of work I get to undertake. From drafting legal documents and attending court hearings to advising clients, no two days are the same. This diversity keeps the job exciting and ensures that I am constantly learning and growing. I have had the opportunity to work on cases involving divorce, complex finances, domestic violence and arrangements for the children, each case presenting its own unique challenges and opportunities for professional development.
Balancing my work whilst training with the demands of the Legal Practice Course (“LPC”) whilst I was a Paralegal was challenging. However, undertaking the LPC part-time allowed me to gain practical experience while continuing my studies. The support from the rest of the team at Lux was instrumental during this time, allowing me to prepare for my exams accordingly.
The part I enjoy the most about being a trainee solicitor at Lux Family Law is the sense of fulfilment that comes from helping clients navigate some of the most difficult times in their lives. Knowing that our work can make a positive impact on someone’s future is incredibly motivating. Additionally, the collaborative and supportive environment at Lux makes it a pleasure to come to work every day.
My experience as a trainee solicitor here at Lux has been nothing short of amazing. The training, variety of work, and supportive environment have all contributed to my growth as a trainee. I look forward to the final few months of my training before qualifying in July!
