Lux Family Law Champions Sustainability

Lux Family Law Champions Sustainability with ‘Wear it Again’ Campaign This Party Season
Lux Family Law is proud to announce the launch of its latest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, encouraging professionals to make more sustainable choices during the upcoming party season. The campaign, titled “Wear it Again”, urges individuals to think twice before purchasing a new outfit and instead embrace the idea of re-wearing something already in their wardrobe.
As a team of women, Lux Family Law is particularly aware of the cultural and societal pressure placed on women not to be seen in the same outfit twice. That pressure does not apply equally to men, who can wear the same tuxedo to multiple events without comment. This double standard contributes to the economic disadvantage women face. Lux Family Law believes it’s time to challenge this norm and encourages women to support and applaud one another for making sustainable, empowering choices like recycling their wardrobes.
As festive events and celebrations approach, the pressure to buy new clothing often leads to unnecessary consumption and waste.
This year, Lux Family Law is launching the campaign in place of sending traditional Christmas cards, choosing instead to make a meaningful impact through sustainability and charitable giving. As part of the initiative, the firm will donate £5 to Crisis, the national charity working to end homelessness, for each of the first 50 people who upload a photo of themselves re-wearing an outfit, tagging @luxwearitagain and using the hashtag #WearItAgain.
Why This Matters
- 350,000 tonnes of clothing are sent to landfill in the UK every year
- Synthetic fabrics can take up to 200 years to decompose
- Less than 1% of discarded textiles are recycled into new garments
Charlotte Leyshon, Founder of Lux Family Law, said:
“As an all-woman team, we’ve felt the pressure many women face, the idea that you can’t be seen in the same outfit twice, especially during party season. It’s a double standard that doesn’t apply to men, and it creates real economic disadvantage for women. With ‘Wear it Again’, we’re taking a stand against gender bias and the environmental impact of fast fashion. The campaign reflects our values of integrity, community and care and it’s also a bit of fun. It’s about rediscovering the joy of dressing up in something you already own and cheering each other on for making sustainable choices”.
This initiative reflects Lux Family Law’s broader commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
